Difference between gasoline generator and diesel generator
Release time: 2022-08-23
Generator sets are divided into gasoline generators and diesel generator sets according to different fuels, which are easier to see in our daily life, so what is the difference between them? Let's break it down:
1. The structure of the two is basically the same, and from their names, you can find a clear difference: the fuel required is different. The calorific value of diesel is relatively high, and gasoline is relatively gentle in combustion.
2. The power is different. The same reason that the horsepower of a car that burns diesel is greater than that of a gasoline-burning car, the small power of the diesel generator set is eight kilowatts, and the large power can reach two thousand kilowatts, and the high power of the same volume of gasoline can only reach ten kilowatts.
3. The ignition type is different. In the cylinder of a gasoline engine, a mixture of fuel and air is ignited with a spark plug. In a diesel engine, the mixture is ignited with heat formed by compression.
4. The volume is different. The gasoline engine is small in size and easy to handle, suitable for mobile power supply.
5. The mixture of fuel and air is different. In gasoline engines, fuel is mixed with air in the carburetor and intake ducts. In a diesel engine, the mixing of fuel with air is carried out after the diesel fuel has been sucked into the cylinder.
6. The main uses are different. Diesel engines are mainly used for industrial power supply, and gasoline engines are generally chosen for household use
Gasoline generators are inefficient, and the electricity generated by gasoline engines of the same quality is less than that of diesel generators of the same quality.
The price of gasoline is high, and the price of gasoline of the same volume is higher than the price of diesel. Gasoline density is also not the same as diesel density.
Diesel storage is safer than gasoline, gasoline ignition point under normal pressure of more than 400 degrees Celsius, higher ignition point fuel needs a spark plug engine. Use diesel, a fuel with a ignition point of about 200 degrees Celsius at atmospheric pressure
The output power of diesel generators is larger than the output power of gasoline engines, and the high power of general gasoline generators is only 10kw, while the small power of diesel generator sets is 8kw, and the high power can reach thousands of kilowatts.
